I got my new seeing eye dog on Monday. Her name is willow. she's a black lab and really sweet. at first I was aquard when walking with her but by yesterday afternoon I was becoming more comfortable. two dogs were growling at each other and Willo didn't even bat an eyebrow. She's such a good girl!

And where is this delightfull creature from? I have a mail black lab who is extrordinary however could benefit from a training session with Willo regarding proper conduct around other dogs. He loves them and keeps forgetting he is working when he sees them. Once they are gone he's fine. So, Willo, Please share the secret of ignoring dogs while working. Congratulations and enjoy. Black labs are just the best.

I was sent home yesterday. Wilow and I didn't work out. I wasn't trusting her and was relying too much on my vision

I'm sorry Ashley,
My first dog didn't work out either. He and I were together two months, but it just wasn't meant to be. I now have another dog, we've been together two years, and it's great. Do you have a lot of site? With Voyager, I try to close my eyes on routs that I know, that way I learn to trust him more. It's a matter of trusting your dog, and letting him or her do the work. It was hard for me at first, but I'm glad I stuck with it. Hope you get another one one day.
